Automotive service consultants, also called service advisors, are the liaison between the customers and the technicians. They must not only know how to communicate effectively with the customer, they must also relate well with the technicians and be knowledgeable of vehicle systems.
When a customer comes in with a problem, they must get as much information as possible from the customer, take the vehicle on a road test, make a decision about which repairs might be necessary and relay all of this information to the technicians.
The ASE C1 certification test is designed to evaluate the customer relations skills, internal relations skills, product knowledge, sales skills and shop operations skills of automotive service consultants. The recognition you will gain with C1 certification will ensure you a successful and profitable career as a service consultant
